If you are interested in improving your employability and soft skills by solving difficult business problems, here is a unique opportunity to participate in the VAKEN sprint week 3, an Intensive Program taking place in Akureyri, Iceland.

You will meet and work with students from 6 European countries, get new knowledge and improve your soft skills, which you can use in your further studies and career. You will work on a real-life project in an international group in cooperation with the client. During the week, you will solve a big problem and test new ideas in just five days. Furthermore, you will have fun learning and networking. The intensive program certificate 3 ECTS of attendance.

Dates

  • Arrival in Reykjavik: Sunday, October 30th – bus transport to Akureyri
  • Departure: Bus transport to Reykjavik Saturday, November 5th, flight from Reykjavik Sunday, November 6th
  • Sprint week: Monday, October 31st to Friday 4th of November

You are expected to do preparations and initial research before the sprint week and a post assignment after the sprint week.

The VAKEN project is funded by Nordplus, and VAKEN covers:

  • Flight and travel costs from your home country to Akureyri and back
  • Accommodation
  • Some meals during the week

VAKEN is a process that enables training and assessment of soft skills in real-life context with guidance from coaches and in collaboration with companies. The VAKEN Sprint Week follows the process developed by VAKEN.

Who can apply?

All students can apply! There are only 30 spots available, 5 per partner institution! You need to speak English fluently.

COVID 19: Only fully vaccinated students may participate.

How to apply

To be a part of this exclusive sprint week, you are required to send a personal motivated application in form of a video (max. 3 minutes). Send your application to the contact person from your institution (see below) no later than September 1st 2022.

The video should include:

  • Your motivation, why you want to participate
  • Your background and program
  • Which competencies and professional skills you can bring to the VAKEN sprint week
