Once you have completed the study unit you will:

Understand the scientific basis for the
electrical, thermal,
optical and magnetic properties of engineering
bulk materials, and the chemical properties of
surfaces. (Knowledge)

Be able to select the appropriate material
investigative and modification methods. (Attitude)

Have competency in performing calculations and
laboratory experiments relating to bulk and
surface material properties. (Skill)
