In this study unit the focus will be for you to
build the following competences:
- Competence in scientific research

After completing the study unit, you:

(knowledge)
- can explain the basics of scientific research.
- understand the difference between quantitative
and qualitative research methods
- have knowledge on the benefits and possible
drawbacks with different ways to conduct your
research
- are able to critically review prior research
- have an understanding what constitutes knowledge
- are able to critically review news and
information
- understand different ways of analysing empirical
data

(skill)
- can build a research plan and design for your
project
- can perform data analysis of either or both
quantitative and qualitative data.

(attitude)
- adopt a critical, yet constructive view of
science and knowledge
