Kompetensmål
The aim of the course is to develop a specific area within current gerontechnology through an individual project work where multiprofessional resources are contacted and used.
Läranderesultat
At the end of the course the student:
- is in her/his project work expected to demonstrate a deep understandig of the process of ageing and the everyday life of the elderly
- is expected to apply this gerontological knowledge in her/his gerontechnological solution
- is able to demonstrate her/his skills in the English language, in scientific writing and in presenting a conference paper
Innehåll
The students have chosen a specific area of interest in the course Introduction to Gerontechnology for their individual project works: An exsisting product or service to be developed with the perspective of Design for all, Inclusive design and Product development using multiprofessional teamwork and consultaion. Information from previous studyvisits like Toimiva koti or new visits. The student will also make studyvisits of his/her own according to what is needed for the specific individual project chosen.
The student will work independently and consult different professionals like physiotherapists, occupational therapists or technical devises technicians according to the specific project work chosen. The student's individual project work will be presented as poster,abstract and oral presentation in the final conference of the whole Gerontechnology module.
