Arcada UAS will change its student information system Asta into a national service provider’s IT system called Sisu.
Arcada will be dismantling its current student information system Asta and transition to a new system called Sisu during the Autumn of 2023. This entails that every student will have to start using Sisu. Our goal is that the students:
- will activate their own personal Sisu page and create their own study plan during November, and then
- enroll to their courses in period 3-4 during December.
Students will be offered training sessions in November. More detailed information about what is expected of students will be sent out immediately once all schedules have been set. If you graduate by 31 Dec 2023 you do not need to activate your study plan in Sisu.
What is a student information system?
All students’ information is stored in a student information system. It collects information about study rights, enrollments, study achievements, study plans, courses and course registrations. Asta is Arcada's current student information system.
The new student information system Sisu is used by many other universities in Finland; Sisu is already used by students at University of Helsinki and Hanken School of Economics. The student information system is used by both students and staff. As a student you use the system when you e.g., register for courses.
