Competency aims

The aim of the course is that the student has deepened his/her knowledge of accessibility and participation as part of the rehabilitation field and to have knowledge about universal design.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:
- identify accessibility at individual-, group- and societal level
- understand the meaning of ecology for activity and participation
- understand the correlation between science and practice in relation to participation and professional work within the rehabilitation sector
- identify and analyze such possibilities and hindrance within universal design related to the rehabilitation field.
- be able to show how UD could be used as part of participation as well as be able to plan different accessibility aspects

Prerequisites and co-requisites

A bachelor degree and at least three years work experience gained after completing the higher education degree

Assessment requirements

To pass the course the student should pass the following examinations:
Examination 1 Written report participation model (passed/failed)
Examination 2 Written report based on literature and practical task. (graded 1-5)
Active participation in the course activities and discussions.

The examinations contribute to the final grade as follows: The written report is the on giving the line for thecourse. Examination 1 and active participation increase or decrease the final grade.
