This study unit states the following
competence / competencies in focus:
The module covers the skills to work in
the occupational therapy process based on a
person-centered
approach and to work as
development and change actor.
You have basic theoretical knowledge of
the basic concepts of person and capability.
You have basic knowledge of the profession
work process, about person-centered work
and its significance for the person's
opportunities
to occupation and participation in various
surroundings.
You have basic knowledge to analyze
the relationship between person, activity and
environment and its impact on everyday life
activities.
The module includes 5 credits of internship.
General competence:
Competence in technological, ethics and
sustainability, communication and social skills
skills: You become familiar with different
technical and
digital tools for occupational therapy
intervention.
You can consider ethical and sustainability issues
in
different work processes.
You can consciously communicate and constructively
present your views in different theoretical and
practical study contexts.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
You have knowledge about the occupational therapy process and its content.
You have a basic understanding of praxis models in order to be able to explain for the relationship between person, occupation and environment and its impact on everyday occupations.
You have knowledge of the assessment process.
You have knowledge about activity analysis.
You have knowledge of planning, goal formulation and evaluation as a basis for the occupational therapist's person-centered work. You have a theoretical understanding of documentation in social and health care.
You have knowledge about documenting within social- and health care.
You have a theoretical understanding of the person-centered approach and about the concept of capability.
You have basic theoretical knowledge of professional reasoning.
Skills:
You can describe the different parts of the occupational therapy process and the content of the different parts.
You can analyze, grade and customize an activity to identify what abilities and skills different activities require.
You can relate to how a person-centered way of working affects the intervention.
You can define what reliability and validity are and understand the significance of these in relation to the assessment methods used.
You can explain the central content of the person-centered approach.
You can explain the central content of professional reasoning.
Attitude:
You value a systematic way of working to promote occupation and participation in a changing everyday life.
