Competency aims

Objective of this course is to introduce to composite materials, their mechanical characteristics, modelling methods and manufacturing processes. The course builds a foundation in technical textiles as reinforcement for composites. Sandwich construction and concept for light weight structures is describted for bending loads.

Do not participate if you have not passed Strength of Materials/Mechanics of material 1. The course is part of the obligatory professional studies in the old study plans (before autumn 2021). In the new study plan (2021 onwards) the course is optional and part of the development studies.
