In this study unit the focus will be for you to
build the following competences:

- General business competence, building an ability
to move from specialist role to a business leader
role

- Competence in managing and expanding a business
in changing conditions

Learning outcomes

After completing the study unit, you:

- have an understanding of the development of
strategic thinking as a discipline within business
management
- have knowledge of central strategy concepts,
analytical models and processes needed in a
business leader role
- have a specialised understanding of megatrends,
the transformation of the business model and how
growth can be achieved in business

(skill)

- can apply strategic tools to analyze the company
and its business environment
- can create a strategy for change for a unit or a
company by applying the knowledge you have
acquired in the study unit
- can relate your role and activities to the
governance structure and the culture of the
company in executing strategy

(attitude)

- have an open and holistic view to strategic
opportunities as well as a critical ability to
evaluate existing assumptions that steer our
behaviour and beliefs
- see cooperation and communication as the key
issues to create strategic change

- megatrends
- classical and new strategic tools
- building your company´s vision
- Blue Ocean Strategy
- reinventing your business model
- Must-Win Battles
- corporate culture and strategy execution
- the role of the board, the CEO and the EMG
- companies in distress

Prerequisites and co-requisites

A bachelor degree and at least two years work
experience gained after completing the higher
education degree
