Course contents

The research process and qualitative methods
such as focus group-, interviewing, observation-,
case
studies
and action research.

The research process and quantitative methods such
as,
for
instance: t-test, ANOVA, cross tabulation,
correlation-,
regression- and similar methods.

During the study unit you will learn:

- To contribute  and critically engage with 
developments in your field, supported by 
general and advanced knowledge in your field.

- To be able to critically explain, discuss and 
assess and argue for theories, key 
concepts, methods and principles.

- To be able to solve even complex problems in
your
profession and learn to share your learning
experiences.

- To be able to share knowledge and experience
with
others regarding
information literacy, validate knowledge and 
argue the difference between data, information and
knowledge; - the ability to follow, discuss and
promote 
research ethics principles.

The aim of the study unit is to present and
discuss
different
types of qualitative and quantitative methods,
their
background, aim and use.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Third year students.
The minimum requirement to complete this study
unit is 105
ECTS (credits from work placements are not
included) and
at
least 30 credits in your major subject have to be
completed.

Assessment requirements

To pass the course the student should pass the
following examinations (in time: deadlines!):
Examination 1 assignments
Examination 2 written exam or other extensive
final assignment

produktions, essays, and also presence at
specified occasions)

The examinations contribute to the final grade
as follows: 50 points for the qualitative part and
50 points
for the quantitative part.
