Competency aims
To provide the student with an understanding of how the woman and foetus interact physically during delivery. To enable the student to observe and take care of the woman and foetus during labour.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able, with the help of her supervisor midwife, to plan the care and nursing of a woman undergoing normal delivery .
Course contents
-Theoretical studies of ethical principes in delivery care
-documentation and reporting
-theoretical knowledge of childbirth, pain relief and alternative methods during labour
-theroretical knowledge of post-delivery care and care of the newborn baby
-clinical practice in a delivery unit 7,5 ECTS
-delivery, pain relief during delivery, alternative methods of delivery
