Arcada’s operations and teaching on campus may be affected by the transport strike that started on 1 March. Follow the instructions given to you by your teacher in case the strike is expanded next week.

For next week, the union has warned that the strike will be expanded to include rail and tram services in addition to bus services.

As a large proportion of both staff and students rely on public transport, some special arrangements will be needed. Much of the theory teaching will be moved online if the strike is expanded, practical exercises may be postponed or alternative practice sessions set up.

To keep track of exactly what applies to your study units, follow your teacher's information on itsLearning. Please note that alternative arrangements will only come into effect if the strike is expanded.

If you are about to go on practical training or you have already started your practical training, it is important that you follow the instructions that apply to your particular place of work. If you are unable to go get to your work site because of the strike, you should contact your supervisor and the teacher responsible immediately to explore alternatives.
