Competency aims
In this course the pathophysiology of human
diseases
is applied in the clinical context.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able
to:
-discuss the etiology, signs and symptoms,
complications and prognosis of the most common
medical diseases.
-identify appropriate diagnostic examinations for
the most common medical diseases
- explain the treatment alternatives, their
mechanisms, including risk, side-effects and
prognosis
-use the Metacognitive cycle to assess their
learning experience

In this course learners are exposed to central
issues relating to clinical physiology

Students must have first accomplished, with a
passing grade, the course Anatomy and Physiology.

To accomplish this course students will participate
in contact days in the simulation center and
receive a passing grade of 60% for theoretical
studies.
