Competency aims
The aim of the course is to carry out a planning
of an event from an idea to evaluation and final
report
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to identify and understand
the meaning of planning the event for different
target groups. She/ he is also able to benefit
the subcontractor’s services. Student has a
clear understanding how to make cost accounting
and billing. Student will also be able to make
and obey a project plan. Student is also able
to analyze the Big Picture of event planning
from different view of various actors and
participants.
Course contents
This course is combined together with 'Security
& bureaucracy'- course.
Based on litterature studies of different event
books and other written sources you will create
your own model and process for producing and
managing an event in a form of a HandBook.
Input from guest lecturers representing
different functions within event industry will
be of advantage in receiving up-to-date
information about event planning.

Co-operation, marketing and communication,

Sustainable event planning
Feedback and evaluation
After taking part in the set of three event
sources, you will be able to plan and implement
an event from an idea to follow up both from a
theoretical and a practical point of view.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students from degree programme in Tourism must
have passed min. 30 credits tourism courses.
Students from other degree programs must have
passed suitable studies ex. Marketing
minimum 100 credits passed totally

This course is included in entity of
EVENGEMANGSPLANERING 15 SP. Student has to take
all the 3 courses included to this entity. Some
modules of the course insist students’
presence. Languages are Swedish and partly
Finnish.
Students on third/fourth study year have
priority.
