The aim of the course is to give the students
insight in the future of
retail from a strategic and research perspective

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to:
-understand the critical trends of development
in traditional and
digital retail
-analyze the development from a strategic
perspective with a
focus on retailers' opportunities and
challenges
-assess different mobile technologies that
could be implemented
in retail so that it creates value for the
consumer
-conduct Eye-tracking studies in retail
-understand the role of data for analytics and
as a potential new
service

-Channel integration
-Impact of mobile technologies
-Influential role of social media
-Changing role of the physical brick-and-mortar
store
-Diversity in customer requirements
-Balance between personalization and privacy
-Different technology in practice
-Eye-tracking study's and analysis
-How can data and analytics be used in retail

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Minimum 20 ECTS conducted in the marketing module
of year 2
