The aim of the course is: The student develops one´s competence in health promotion of children, adolescents and families.

At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to:

Understand the importance of maintaining and maintaining health
for the future of children and young people

Know the stages of growth and development of a healthy child and young person
as well as deviations in them

Know the basics of promoting sexual and reproductive health

Understand the normal course of pregnancy and childbirth, methods for monitoring and health promotion
Can support families in parental growth and care of the newborn

Know the principles and practices of child protection

Factors protecting and promoting the health and well-being of children and adolescents

The growth and development of children and adolescents

Sexual and reproductive health

The customary progress of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium

Supporting parenthood and taking care of a newborn
