Competency aims
The aim of the course is to give the students an
overall view of networks and practical knowledge of
routing and swiching
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to
be able to plan, install and maintain a network.

Physical Network Design
The basics of configuring the three layers of a campus LAN (core,
distribution, and access)
Ethernet LANs and Switches
VLAN Network
-introduction to the basic switch commands and the steps for
configuring a static VLAN
IP Subnet Design
Routed Network
-functions of the router and includes configuration examples in
different scenarios
