Competency aims
The aim of the course is to give the student the
needed level of
theoretical and practical skills so that the
student can work as a
sound supervisor or sound technician in simple
discussion and
music programmes in the TV-studio environment.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected
to know the
basics of sound recording and mixing techniques
together with
the working methods of discussion and music
programmes
produced in multicamera TV-studio environment.
The student
is also expected to be able to draft sound plans
for music and
discussion programmes.
Course contents
The course includes four theoretical lectures in
sound design.
During the lectures the students learn to draft
sound plans for
discussion and music programmes carried out as
multicamera productions in TV-studio environment.
The students will also work under
supervision as sound supervisors and sound
technicians in
Arcada's TV-studio projects. The students are
expected to keep
a learning diary in which they describe and
analyse the
production processes from the sound
dramaturgical, sound
technological and work methodological angles. The
student is
also expected to analyse his/her own working
methods and roll
during the process. The diary and the sound plans
of the done
productions will be submitted for grading after
the last
obligatory feedback lecture at the end of the
course.
