Course contents

Democratic-participatory leadership is a challenge
for any organization, and the education aims at
creating such an environment by encouraging a
mutually supportive relationships where students
are valued for the unique, creative perspective
they bring. Each study unit requires active
commitment, as peer-learning and self-driven
learning activities are the foundation for deep
learning. Studies can be done on campus or online.
Students receive regularly 'triggers' (complex
questions), guidance and resourceful lectures as a
pedagogical framework.
The triggers are work and/or civil society
related.
The lectures are a blend between theoretical
discussions and Finnish/ Nordic guest lectures.
During all learning activities in this master
program there will be a continuous focus on
social, teaching and cognitive presence.
Furthermore, building a sense of
community among learners is essential for
developing common purposes and inquiry in each
learning unit.
The purpose of highlighting the learning community
in this master education rely on the assumption
that in order to create the conditions for inquiry
and qualitative interactions (reflective and
threaded discussions) there needs to be a
collaborative starting point.
