Competency aims

- You can lead and participate in projects that involve safety and clinical research and development, and that have a background in theoretical assumptions and current care and medical directives.
- You can independently practice evidence-based work in your job and you have knowledge of how an adequate research question is formulated, how information is reviewed and critically evaluated and how results can be applied in care work.

Learning outcomes

- You have a clinical competency at an advanced level, with an emphasis on patient safety.
- You can use good strategies and action models for patient safety, and critically evaluate them in relation to the patient safety culture in the working life.
- You develop your personal competency including theoretical and practical knowledge, reflection, critical thinking and intuition in relation to safety questions in health care.
- You have knowledge and ability to be able to observe the unexpected in care situations or in care cultures and on this basis to be able to understand and react adequately from a patient safety perspective.

Course contents

Evidence based research and care. Evidence based working methods. Evidence based tools.

In this course you follow the guidebook for project and perform a development project in your workplace. The development project will be about safety and clinical evidence and has a background in theoretical assumptions and starting points for the area.

Course in Patient Safety and Medicational Safety or equivalent knowledge
