Learning outcomes
After completing the unit of study, you will have
theoretical knowledge and be able to monitor the
well-being of women and the fetus during normal
childbirth.
Know the current care guidelines and their use of
them.
Be able to guide and support the woman and her
family in the
regular birth.
Can assess the family's need for support and
strengthen
participation and plan and implement any

After completing the unit of study, you will have
theoretical skills and can work with inter-
professional teams and
the prospective family to plan, implement and
evaluate the care provided during regular
childbirth, and
monitor the resources of the woman and the family
and use
them when necessary.

On completion of the unit, you will have a woman-

family-centered approach both in midwifery
and in inter-professional care contexts.

Course contents
-Delivery mechanism, documentation, examination
and follow-up of the health of women in delivery
and her fetus.
-care and observation of the newborn basic
skills in delivery care and support of the first
breastfeeding.
- skill stations and simulation.
- anatomy- and physiology of pelvic, pelvic
musculature, placenta function, fetal circulation.
