You understand the use of medications in treatment of the pediatric
patient and you can critically evaluate the answer you get in medication calculation.

You can perform medication calculation at level required by a nurse.

If you have started your studies in the Swedish program 2021 or after that:
The course Basics of caring, more specific the part Medication administration,
PART 1 has to be competed to be entitled do a calculation exam.

If you have started your studies in the Swedish program 2020 or before:
The course Medication administration and patient safety has to be competed
to be entitled do a calculation exam.

You can do the pediatric exam only once during a study year.
Check with the Medication calculation teachers if you need to do an ordinary calculation exam before calculationg a separate pediatric exam (does not apply to them who are performing the course Care in various ethical settings).

Participation in tuition

The pediatric medication calculation exam is not mandatory for students who have started the Swedish nursing program 2020 or earlier.
Students who have started their studies 2021 or later will have a separate medication calculation exam with pediatric calculations in a course during their second study year.
