The aim of the practical training is that the
student gets an understanding for the multi
professional work within occupational health
care. The student also gets an understanding
for how work affects people´s health and how
one can promote work ability during different
stages of life.

Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is
expected
to be able to apply the theoretical knowledge
within occupational health care and
occupational medicine in practice. The student
knows the significant processes for
implementing the activities within occupational
health care. The student can encounter and
guide people in different stages of their
working life in the context of occupational
health care. The student is able to plan,
conduct and document different care activities
within occupational health care, including
activities for the unemployed.
Course contents
Clinical practice in the field of occupational health
care. The length of the clinical practice is 4 weeks
and occurs during the weeks 15-18.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Basic studies, ie. the study units from the first
three years, including all practical
training, must be completed. The theory course
Work and health must be completed. It is
recommended that the practical training in out
patient care is completed before this one.
In addition, pro rector´s decision 6/2020
regarding sufficient language competence in
Swedish and Finnish is a requirement for signing
up for this practical training.
