Pregnancy:
This course contributes to the progress of gaining knowledge and understanding, about maternity care, for midwifery students and public health nurse students
Family:
Student identifies and supports the health resources of families and is able to support the individual needs of different types of families on the basis of multi professional team work in maternity care. (skill and ability)
Learning outcomes
- Student is able to plan maternity care and tutor the pregnant woman trough out the pregnancy.
-Student is able to conduct and evaluate maternity care in the context of midwifery/ public health nursing.
-Student has the necessary knowledge in obstetrics.
- Student is familiar with the course of regular delivery.
- Student tutors and supports the parents in their relationship and the process of becoming a family, during the pregnancy.
- Student is able to identify different types of families and their specific needs for support.
- Student is able to identify different kinds of need for additional support.
- Student knows the occupations specific area of competence and responsibility, and is able to act accordingly in a multi professional team.
- Student knows the maternity care service system.
