Competency aims

The aim of the course is to develop a basic
research competence. With this competence the
student can start the thesis process.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to
- be able to describe the research process.
- understand how knowledge forms, different
forms of knowledge and different traditions of
knowledge development and understand different
epistemological approaches in different kinds
of disciplines.
-assign forms of knowledge to different
types of thesis and how it relates to the needs
of development in working life and critically
review scientific literature to support the
thesis process.
- apply principles of professional and research
ethics in
her/his studies
- be able to identify needs of development,
define topics and formulate a purpose and
research questions for his or her thesis.
