Competency aims
This course serves to deepen the theoretical
knowledge in the pathophysiology as applied in
the
clinical context, focusing on patient safety. It
also function as a base for succeeding in
upcoming courses.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students are expected
to be able to:
-discuss the etiology, signs and symptoms,
complications and prognosis of the most common
diseases in internal medicine.
-identify appropriate diagnostic examinations
for the diseases
- explain the treatment alternatives, their
mechanisms, including risk, side-effects and
prognosis
Course contents
In this course learners are exposed to central
issues relating to clinical physiology in
different contexts.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must have passed the following
courses:
Anatomy and Physiology and Medicine 1.
