In this study unit the focus lies on the following
competencies:
- Can function as paramedic on Advanced Level
according
to the values and professionally ethical
principles
inherent to prehospital emergency care, can master
non-
technical skills needed for leading and being part
of a
prehospital emergency care team.
- Can be responsible for treatment decisions in
prehospital care, as well as define patient
status,
need of transport and care both before and during
transport as well as perform a safe and effective
care
on advanced level.
- Can act at situational leader for emergency care
and
collaborate with other authorities (such as
police,
fire department, social services and healthcare
services)

Learning outcomes
Independently make decisions on patient
assessment, care and
transport and evaluate the need for them,
according, if
possible, to current guidelines.
Can, as a whole, be responsible and lead the
systematic
assessment and evaluation of a patient as well as
initiation
of care, based on a diagnostic hypothesis or
symptoms. You
can also plan the safe care of the patient within
prehospital
context, both before and during transport and
evaluate the
performed care in relation to the plan.
Can use evidence-based emergency medicine and
pharmacology
during prehospital patient care and apply that
knowledge to

their relatives on continued car with clear,

adequate instructions.

Course contents
The content is 5 weeks (7,5 cr) of training in
ambulance and 2,5 cr to train in simulator.
