Learning outcomes
Once you have completed the study unit you will
have:
Show in-depth knowledge of the physiology of the
nervous system and sensorimotor control in healthy
people and can pay attention to the withdrawal
symptoms that occur with neurological
abnormalities (muscle diseases and spinal cord
injuries) in people of all ages (Knowledge)
Have knowledge regarding causes, symptoms,
examination, treatment and rehabilitation
principles for muscle diseases and spinal cord
injuries, and for children with neurological
diseases (Knowledge)
Have in-depth knowledge in choosing and applying
evidence-based relevant physiotherapeutic methods
with the aim of improving mobility and functional
ability. (Knowledge, Skill)
Be able to relate to previous knowledge and skills
in the application of evidence-based
physiotherapeutic assessment, training,
supervision and evaluation for people with
neurological diseases and injuries. (Knowledge,

Have in-depth knowledge of various technical
aspects regarding transfers of patients. (Skill)
Have in-depth knowledge of documenting the
physiotherapy process and working as part of a
multi-professional team. (Skill)
Have in-depth knowledge of the principles of
rehabilitation, client centering, multi-
professional teamwork, and be motivated to develop
your skills and physiotherapy to better support
