Competency aims
To enable the student to examine and analyze MICE-industry and accommodation planning, marketing and follow-up tasks.
To provide the skills required to analyze results and give suggestions for improvements. Revenue management and pricing strategies in the hospitality field are in a central role.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course he/she has capacity to plan and sell services on hotels and conference venues according to guest segments. The student is also expected to analyze results and give suggestions for improvements to maximize profit at hotels and conference venues.
Course contents
Overview of the operational sectors in hotels as well as conference organisation and conference venues . The course reviews the management components and related skills.
Rates, pricing, products,and Revenue Management
Plan and implement one conference, fair or event. Correspondence in Finnish.
The student will plan, put into practice and evaluate a small fair och meeting.
