Competency aims

The aim of the course is to create an understanding of the structure of the human body and its healthy functioning, the chemical/physical background, and to give the skills needed to be able to recognise illness.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to:

-describe the structure of the human body and name the organs in Swedish and in scientific terms

-understand and shortly describe the functions of the different organ systems; the musculoskeletal system, the circulatory system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the urinary system, the reproductive system, the endocrine organs, the nervous system, and the sense organs.

-be aware of the mechanisms for the development of disease

Course contents

The structure and function of all organs of the human body and the development of illness.
