Within this study unit we will focus on the

Once you have completed the study unit you will:

Show knowledge of the most common functional
disorders and diseases of the Musculoskeletal
System (Knowledge)

Be able to explain and motivate factors related to
the onset and prevention of musculoskeletal
disorders (Knowledge)

Have knowledge in postoperative physiotherapy
(Knowledge)

Have the skills to perform a basic
physiotherapeutic examination for clients with
symptoms or diseases of the musculoskeletal system
and choose appropriate treatment methods (Skill)

Have an evidence-based approach to your
counselling and base your choices and methods on
proven knowledge and act in accordance with the
professional ethical principles. (Knowledge,
Skill, Attitude)

Can report on the physiotherapy process orally and
in writing in accordance with your profession
(Skill)

Be able to supervise self-care on the basis of the
client's functional ability, which supports the
client's goals in her functional environment and
take into account health-promoting aspects (Skill,
Attitude)

Theory of the most common functional disorders and
the pain conditions in the musculoskeletal system.

Basic physiotherapeutic examination of the
musculoskeletal system.

Critical reviewing skills and broad point of view
(biopsychosocial, person-centered).

Evidence-based guidance in connection with self-
care and support of work- and functional ability.

Examination 1: Written exam (part 1 and part 2)
Examination 2: Passed postoperative protocol
Examination 3: Participate actively in simulation
(passed/not passed)

80 % of practical lessons are compulsory. Under
50% of attendance can't be compensated.
