Competency aims
The aim of the course is that the student
- improve understanding for what it means to live with a disability and what the attitudes in the society towards disabled are today.
- improve ability to meet, support and tutor as well as inspire users from a social educational perspective.
- critically examine the attitudes towards persons with disabilities that they observed during their practical work period.
- improve ability to use theoretical knowledge and is an active part in different practical situations.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:
- in a professional way meet persons with disability
- identify resources and needs of support
- use theoretical knowledge about persons with disabilities and their living conditions.
- use social educational work methods in work with persons with disabilities.
- work together with staff, families of the user and other partners.
