Competency aims

Students develop their clinical skills and can
select and use appropriate physiotherapy
assessment and treatment methods:

  • Students knows the basics regarding
    measurement of ROM and muscle stretching and
    are
    able to use techniques in an appropriate way in
    practice.

  • Students know fundamentals of joint
    mobilization and can perform joint mobilization
    of extremities joints following the basic
    principles.

Learning outcomes

Students are expected to

  • Understand the purpose and be able to use
    different techniques considering measurement of
    Range of Motion.

  • respond to a client in a professional way in
    a
    testing and treatment situation

  • account for joint mobilization areas of use
    and perform the various mobilization of
    extremities joints effectively

Course contents

Theoretical bases and practical implementation
of:

  • different methods of measuring ROM, testing
    muscle strength and perform muscle stretching
  • facilitation, and with the PNF method
  • and joint mobilization of extremities

Assessment requirements

To pass the course the student should attend a
minimi of 80% of practical training and pass
the
following examination:
practical demonstration in joint mobilization
and
facilitation

Presence at 80% of the lectures. Absence from
lectures should be compensated with given
tasks.
