Competency aims
To give students the knowledge to support and counsel the mother in her new life situation. To enable the student to support the mother in taking care of herself and the newborn baby.
Learning outcomes
After this course the student is able to give support and advice on babycare and breastfeeding.
The student is able to follow-up both mother´s and baby´s physical health and early interaction
as well as follow up the mothers mental health after delivery
Course contents
The well-being of the baby and her mother during the puerperium.
The support of the family in their new life situation
The importance of the relationship between the mother and the baby.
Co-operation with clinics and the public health centers
