The module covers the competence to work for
sustainable health with a base in occupational
science. You have a basic knowledge of the basic
concepts of occupational science, especially
regarding the essence of occupation and its
relation to the person's everyday life. You have
basic knowledge of the relationship between
person, occupation and environment and its impact
on everyday activities. You can at a basic level
describe theories that are relevant to the
profession. You understand the importance of
occupation in relation to health and a meaningful
life.

General competencies:
Learning and career competence + technological
competence: You can at a basic level, use study
strategies needed at university level and you can
constructively carry out your studies both
individually and in groups. You have basic
knowledge of accessibility in digital
environments.

Knowledge:
You have a basic knowledge of the concept
participation and its significance for everyday
life.
You have basic theoretical knowledge of the
social, physical and cultural environment and its
impact on people's participation in everyday life.
You have basic knowledge of a theoretical model
describing the relationship between human beings,
occupation and environment.
You have basic knowledge of the key the concepts
of person and person- centeredness.
You have knowledge of accessibility and usability
to describe the relationship between environmental
factors and participation.
You have basic knowledge of rehabilitation and the
rehabilitationprocess.
You understand the demands of the environment and
can recognize situations that present challenges
to the person in everyday activities.
You have a basic knowledge of Bronfenbrenner's
ecological theory.
You have a basic understanding of existing
inequalities in a person's environment and have a
basic understanding of their consequences for the
person in everyday life.

Skills:
You can, at a basic level, describe the
significance of the activity for the feeling of
participation in activity.
You can apply the PEO model to make visible the
interaction between human occupation and the
environment.
You can describe how participation and
accessibility in society can be increased by using
principles of universal design.
You can determine challenges in relation to the
accessibility of a person.
You can give examples of actions to improve
accessibility for the person.
You can explain, on the basis of Bronfenbrenner's
systems ecological theory, the relationship
between the individual/person and the environment
and its impact on health, well-being and
participation

Attitude:
You take responsibility for seeing the person he
is, without own preconceived notions.
You can pay attention to the importance of
available and useful environments for the
wellbeing of individuals.

their own everyday life

No preliminary requirements

The unit in Swedish is integrated into this unit
through the individual examination task.
The absence from the workshops, skills training
and
the
seminar are compensated with a submission on
Itslearning. More detailed presentation of the
compensatory assignments are presented on
Itslearning.

For a passing grade, the student must
take the following examinations:
Examination 1: Individual essay about a person's
activity and participation in their environment.
(Grades 1-5) Criteria are presented on the
course's
page on Itslearning. The individual part
constitutes
60% of the grade of the study section
Examination 2: Poster presentation in group at a
seminar.

The examinations are weighted as follows
