Competency aims

The module covers the competence to work in the
occupational therapy process based on a person-
centered approach. The module covers the general
competencies of technological, learning and career
as well as communicative and social competence.
You can both review and apply knowledge about
obstacles on occupational opportunities at
individual, group and community level. You can
apply knowledge about person-centered work. You
understand the basic concept of capability and can
analyze its significance for the person's
opportunities for activity and participation in
different environments. You apply various
technical and digital tools for occupational
therapy intervention. You can reflect on your own
resources and professional skills and development
needs. You can argue constructively in different
professional contexts. The competence described in
the module is consolidated and strengthened
through practical application.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
You have theoretical knowledge of the evidence-
based process.
You have knowledge of theories and models relevant
to occupational therapy.

Skill:
Based on different cases, you use occupational
science, interdisciplinary knowledge and
occupational therapy models as a basis for your
professional reasoning in the occupational therapy
process.
You can argument in a constructive way for the
evidence and for your choices in the person-
centered occupational therapy process.
Based on cases, you identify occupational
challenges and occupational opportunities in order
to support the persons occupational adaption in
relation to daily activities.

Attitude:
You realize the importance of evidence and the
importance of your ability to professional
reasoning as a basis for professional work.
You realize the importance of a critical approach
in professional work.
You cherish each person's free will and their
possibility to use their own abilities.
