Competency aims

The module covers the skills to work in the
occupational therapy process based on a person-
centered approach. The module covers the general
competencies technological-, learning- and career-
as well as communicative- and social competence.
You can both review and apply knowledge when it
comes to possible hindrance for a person?s
opportunities to be active on an individual-, a
group- and on a community level. You can apply
knowledge about person-centered work. You
understand the basic concept of capability and can
analyze its significance for the person's
opportunities to be active and participate in
different environments. You apply various
technical and digital tools for occupational
therapy intervention. You can reflect on your own
resources and professional skills and your needs
for professional development. You can argue
constructively in different professional contexts.
The competence described in the module is
consolidated and strengthened through practical
application.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
You have basic knowledge of interdisciplinary subjects to describe occupational challenges in relation to
occupational performance of adults.
You have a theoretical understanding of the concept of Occupational identity.
You have in-depth knowledge of the partnership, the dialogue and the narrative as a basis for the person-
centered work.
You have knowledge of the ethics as a basis for person-centeredness
You have basic theoretical knowledge of the group, group dynamics and group leadership.
Skills:
You can, based on case descriptions, reflect on the partnership, the dialogue and the narrative in relation
to people with different types of occupational impairments.
You can select and use relevant interdisciplinary knowledge to clarify the cause of occupational challenges,
identify the person's resources and apply all of this in the person-centered occupational therapy process.
You can, in given cases, demonstrate the application of the occupational therapy process which is based on a
person-centered approach
You can, based on a case, identify the person's occupational opportunities and occupational challenges in
relation to the personal feeling of occupational identity and reflect on how to support the person's
opportunities for participation in daily activities.
You can plan, implement and evaluate a group intervention.

following examinations:
1)Written examination (in pairs), grading 1-5. and
represents 50% of the credit for the study section
2) In groups: Demonstration of a plan,
implementation
and evaluation of a group event for a specific
target group. Graded 1-5 and represents 40% of the credit for the study section
