Competency aims
After completing the unit the student will be able to use computers, networks and information technology as efficient tools in the basic and professional studies and he/she will have the basic knowledge, skills and strategies to become an independent learner of IT.
Learning outcomes
After completeing this course the student will:
- be familiar with IT-infrastructure in ARCADA
- be able to use computers and the local computer network in the school
- be familiar with use of and rules in computer labs
- be able to use the Internet for communication (web-browsers and e-mail)
- have basic knowledge to use application software programs (spreadsheet, word processor)
- have basic understanding of database systems, computer program development
- be familiar with PCs - both its operating system and its hardware and peripherals
