Competency aims
The aim of the course is to
*develop an understanding of the basic principles of Operations Management within public and private sector organizations describe how operations management concepts and techniques can be effectively applied to work-based operations
*explain how manufacturing operations techniques can be successfully applied to service-based operations
*introduce techniques for project planning
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to
*select and apply appropriate operations management concepts and techniques to both work-based and case-based operations
*demonstrate and understanding in the way in which operations function integratively
*describe, identify and find solutions for the difficulties associated with the introduction of operational improvements, formulate and evaluate a plan for operational improvement.
*demonstrate basic project management skills
