Competency aims
The aim of the course is to focus on the exposure
to and practice of general language functions,
both in spoken and written language.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to
-discuss his/her studies, work and housing
-communicate orally in shop/café and restaurant
settings
-ask for directions and also give directions
-use the most common irregular verbs in the
present tense
-use the most common verbs in "le passé
composé"
-use the "futur proche"-form
-know the 'impératif'-form of some common verbs
-use the numerals 20-100
-tell an interlocutor about himself/herself,
his/her family and hobbies
- understand spoken French when it is spoken
slowly and the topic is familiar
-talk about the weather/the days of the
week/the months of the year
-manage simple oral situations where health is
the issue.
-manage simple oral situations where plans for
the future are discussed

Revision of basic grammar, verbs. Everyday
situations, Life in France, Discussing one's
future, Planning a trip, On the telephone.
