Competency aims
The aim of the course is to teach the fundamental
principles and methods of experimental organic
chemistry for the student to learn some skills of
how to work in a chemistry laboratory.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to perform fundamental organic
chemistry laboratory work in an effecive and safe
manner.
Course contents
Laboratory safety, chemistry lab equipment and
methods, synthesis reactions, qualitative analysis
and functional group interconvertions

Laboratory safety for engineers or Introduction
to
University Studies (2017-18 or earlier)
Project of study in Organic chemistry 1 (2018-
19) or Organic chemistry study project (2017-
18)
