Learning outcomes
The student shall obtain a sound foundation in electronic communication technologies, particularly with respect to radio frequency electronics. The course is structured according to the basic functional blocks of a radio frequency communication system.
Course contents
Signals in time and frequency, Fourier analysis
Distortion, Noise and Interference
Signal acquisition, digitalisation and Information theory
Analog and digital modulation methods, modulation rate
Measurement of transmission characteristics, correction of transferred data
Characteristics of radio waves and their propagation, antenna technologies
Transmisssion conductors and wave guides
TV- and Videotechnology
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Analog electronics and advanced mathematics
