Competency aims
The aim of the course is to understand Destination
Management, the role of Destination Management
Organisations (DMOs) and how they work with
different kinds of stakeholders. The course will
also give in-depth knowledge of the functions on
how to manage tourism destinations in a
sustainable way. Although marketing is an
essential part of destination management, this
course will not focus on destination marketing
operations.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to
have knowledge and understanding of destination
management operations. The student can evaluate
tourism management strategies, from co-operation-,
information management-, visitor management- and
responsibility perspectives.
