Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to perform design and analyses in ordered to select engineering materials in mechanical design processes.
These learning outcomes are listed:

- Understand the different material failure criteria and analyze them under different stress states.( Knowledge)
- Able to model and evaluate the of deformations structures both theoretically and computationally using finite element analyses. (knowledge + skill)
- understand the steps in mechanical design and material classes related to selection. (Knowledge)
- Able to perform material selection in engineering design. (knowledge)
