Competency aims
The aim of this course is that students will practice their ability to express themselves in writing analytical and reflective about the film and message of the film.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student is expected to have developed deeper ability to conduct analytical and reflective discussion on film and its message in relation to a context.
Course contents
To benefit from this course you should select three of the themes which are listed below. You should see three films on the themes chosen and write an essay in each theme. Each essay should be around 3000 words. The essay should address:
- Facts about the works under consideration. This means information on production, production year, screenwriter, director, producer and another that can be interesting about the output appearance.
- Personal opinions, reflections and analysis
that addresses differences and similarities between the films around the concept that humanity, of knowledge, worldview, ethics and morality,jenusperspektiv, psychology, drama, action, characters, dialogue, rhetoric, aesthetics, scenery, art storytelling, sound work, etc.
Please include literature to support your discussion. Applicable material could be interviews with filmmakers, film critics, literature in film studies and literature that discusses contemporaneous history or phenomenon.
