Competency aims
The course contributes to provide the student's clinical competence within the most common health obstacles, problems, needs and desires among the patients in gynecological - maternal- pediatric - and psychiatric health care.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to have a knowledge of the normal pregnancy process and illnesses in gynecological care and the student is able to act in acute situations. The student understands the special needs, problems and desires within acute pediatric settings. The student is able to use different strategies in meeting children and parents in pediatric care. The student has developed his/her skills in understanding and supporting patients with psychiatric illnesses. The student understands the importance of self conscience as a working tool in psychiatric care. The student knows the specific ethical principles in her/his profession and is able to reflect about different kind of phenomena in maternal- gynecological- pediatric and psychiatric health care.
