Competency aims
The course gives an introduction to basic concepts and principles of management, entrepeneurship and health economics. The focus is on the administration of an occupational therapy / physiotherapy unit and on the therapist as a self-employed professional. The role as a supervisor for occupational therapy / physiotherapy students in practical training is also discussed.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to
- understand the importance of, and have basic knowledge of administration, leadership, quality assurance and cost effective thinking
- have the knowledge of the position, the tasks and the administration of an occupational therapy / physioterapy unit and the role of the occupationel therapist / physiotherapist as a self-employed professional
- understand the importance of collaboration between closly related professions
- reflect upon the process of supervising students in practical training
