Competency aims
The aim of the course is to introduce different qualitative and quantitative methods for research with stress upon methods used for empirical developmental work.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able
to ;
- find and formulate a meaningful topic/question for his/her thesis work and present the thesis idea
- choose an appropriate method for his/her thesis work
- apply the method in his/her thesis work
Course contents
Qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Working with texts and documents. Field studies, methods for gathering data and analysing it. Action research, innovative research, case-studies and critical incident.
