Competency aims

The aim of the course is to create a detailed understanding of the financial markets internationally and in Finland.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to
- know the main financial instruments on the Finnish markets
- analyze pros and cons of different financial instruments
- understand the functions of the financial markets in open economies
- explain the main trends on the financial markets during the last decades

- main financial instruments available, and their use
- portfolio theory
- financial markets in transition
- characteristics of the Finnish financial markets
