Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
-Produce 2D orthographic engineering drawings of 3D parts using AutoCAD software
-Produce isometric drawings of engineering components
-Define and use engineering standards in the production of engineering drawings
-Produce Developments for the production of standard shapes

Course content:
- Introduction to drawing and Orthographic projection
- AutoCAD set-up and commands
- Editing entities in AutoCAD
- Isometric and Oblique drawings
- Sectional Views
- Auxiliary Views
- Dimensions and title blocks in AutoCAD
- True Length Lines and Developments
Prerequisites and co-requisites
None. Students who have already passed the course in a previous year can not retake the course.
Additional information
The course is conducted remotely due to Corona. There are no on campus lectures. Students are recommended to work from home but may also choose to access Arcada's computer labs during online lectures.

20% - Individual Assignment 1 - Orthographic Projection, Compulsory
Final Exam/Re-exam (80%) - Completed online. A mark of at least 40/80 is needed.

Re-exam 1 gives all students an opportunity to improve their grade whether they sat the normal final exam or not. Non attendance of a re-exam is counted as one opportunity. Re-exam 2 is only for students who did not pass the first normal exam. Previous years assignments are not valid for students retaking the course.
